Stepping into marriage life is not for everyone

Timothy Keller once said that Marriage is glorious but hard.
It's burning joy and strength, and yet it is also blood, sweat, and tears,
humbling defeats and exhausting victories.
And to be honest, it is far from romantic.

Marriage is never ending surprise.

We will be surprised by how our spouse
can be so selfish and need us to take care of them,
even after our long tiring day.
But still, we cook them some delicious food

We will be surprised by how easy they get angry over little things
and we just don’t understand and yet we hug them
and say sorry even though there is nothing to be sorry for

We will be surprised by how deep is their fear,
how insecure they are, but we still love them no matter what

Marriage is a never ending lesson

We learn that our spouse is not a perfect person
and accept them because they are the best things that God has given to us

We learn to show mercy and compassion every day
to the person who sleeps beside us
because they are also a human like us,
full of fault and weakness

We learn that it is really okay to show who we really are,
to show our failure as a human and believe that our spouse will stay

Marriage is about God pouring His grace over and over again
until we understand how much love God has shown to us
in our sinful nature and yet He still chose us.
Loves us. And that’s what marriage is all about.

It’s about God’s love that work through us, in us, and for us.

“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial.
To be known and not loved is our greatest fear.
But to be fully known and truly loved is,
well, a lot like being loved by God.
It is what we need more than anything”
- Timothy Keller
